Heritage

2002

The Trade

David George Williamson began his formal construction career, deliberately starting with an independent joinery business to learn the trade on his own merit.

2005

The Family Business

After completing joinery training, David joined the family construction business. Responsibilities developed from joinery into foreman duties, project management, construction, civil engineering, residential development and substantial contracts.

2017

DGW

DGW Building Services Ltd was incorporated - building on independent contracting work that had developed from joinery packages into extensions, renovations and complete construction packages across education, healthcare, housing and public-sector estates.

Today

UK & Ireland

DGW has developed into a multi-sector construction business delivering residential, commercial, public sector, retail, leisure, heritage and specialist construction projects across the UK and Ireland.

Delivery

David Williamson

David personally leads delivery and stays closely involved with clients from early discussions through construction and handover.

Commercial

Trevor Reed

Trevor works closely alongside David and provides commercial management across DGW projects - tendering, project costing, supplier and subcontractor enquiries, valuations, budget management and commercial administration.

Workforce

DGW operates with an established workforce that can extend to approximately 15 personnel depending upon project requirements, including skilled trades, labour, foremen and project/site management support.

The core workforce is supplemented by established specialist subcontractors including mechanical and electrical contractors.

DGW works closely with an independent Health & Safety consultant supporting project documentation, compliance, inspections and Principal Contractor responsibilities.

Philosophy

DGW's reputation has developed predominantly through recommendation, repeat business and long-standing client relationships rather than advertising or continually pursuing open tenders.

Successful construction requires the complete team to work towards the client's end result rather than individual contractors protecting only their own package.

“Problems should be treated as issues to solve rather than opportunities to move responsibility elsewhere.”

Value engineering does not simply mean reducing cost. The objective is to identify where money can be saved without compromising the project, allowing investment to be concentrated where it produces greater value in the finished result.
